The youth of today are highly frustrated about the country and looking for greener pastures, UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene said.
Speaking at a Youth Meeting organized by the UNP Youth Front, the former MP said the young people are worried about their future in this country, especially their job security and education.Army health officials walk through an alley during the Covid-19 coronavirus mobile vaccination drive for residents of a locality in Colombo on August 12, 2021. “There is a marked hesitancy among youth between 20 to 29 years to get the COVID-19 vaccine manufactured in China as the USA and some European countries do not recognise it and are rejecting visas based on that. A COVID-19 vaccine of their preference must be facilitated to them,” he commented.
He complained that the Government is considering price hikes of rice, milk powder and domestic LP gas, adding that people have to wait in queues to buy those items. AdChoices
